What does Thomas Tweed do?
Thomas Tweed makes tote bags, messenger bags, and accessories out of new and vintage materials and upcycled suit jackets and sports coats. We also curate fit-enhancing vintage items, such as lapel pins, broaches, and pocket squares.
How was Thomas Tweed begun?
Harrington College of Design graduate and Thomas Tweed founder, Andrew Antons went on a search for a men's bag that was not too big (like most messenger bags), not made of leather (to formal), and not made of nylon (too synthetic). After exhausting the stores, I decided to try my hand at making my own bag. I began experimenting with using vintage sports coats in a variety of classic, timeless materials like tweed, herringbone, houndstooth, and seersucker. The end result was a one-of-a-kind, upcycled, eco-friendly, and versatile bag that has character, a touch of nostalgia, and loads of functionally. It's big enough to carry a small laptop, smartphone, iPad, and accessories and has plenty of pockets and compartments to keep your life organized.
